Pictures

Here are some new pics of Connor. He is now eating prunes, applesauce, pears, and pablum. Not all at once or anything but he does eat two of those items at one feed in the evening. We are hoping to increase to two feedings a day by spoon soon. There are some pictures of Connor in Colin's exersaucer, sitting in his bumbo chair, and eating.

Love to you all,

Guess who's laughing now....

CONNOR IS!!!!
Connor laughed for the first time tonight and i have my mom to vouch for it! I was getting Connor ready for his bath and was tickling him and he giggled, then I tickled him again and he giggled again, then I called for mom and did it again and he giggled again. Aside from the time I heard him cry in the NICU it was the best noise I have ever heard. It was so wonderful. I will never ever forget it. He just had the biggest grin and was so happy. It was great. Being a mom to Connor is without a doubt the most amazing experience and the best job in the world. I adore my little man and giggles or no giggles I would still be his biggest fan.

In other news I have a feeling Connor is getting pretty close to that 13 pound mark now. When I stand on the sacel with him he is 13.5 and that is with both of us in clothing so I am assuming that he would be close to 13 pounds. He has an appt at Children's on the 14th so maybe I can convince someone there to weigh him for me, otherwise we will have to wait until the 22nd for an official weight. Regardless he is getting heavier for sure, I had to adjust the baby Bjorn the other day and carrying him and the car seat is becoming a mild upper body workout now! Brian and I are taking wagers on Connor's weight on the 21st of December (an official weight day) I am saying 14.3 with nothing on. Feel free to post your guesses, winner gets bragging rights and mentioned in Connor's baby book as the winner, that prize alone is priceless! :)

Blessings to you all,
A.

Applesauce is Yummy too!

Connor has a new food to add to his options. He already takes formula as you all know and the rice cereal, now he also has some applesauce! He LOVES the applesauce and he is getting so much better with the spoon. It is really neat to see how he doesn't quite get it the first try but by the third spoonful he is eating like a champ. I don't plan on trying any other new foods with him until next month if the doctor says it is ok. Connor of course still takes pretty much all his food by bottle, the spoon feeding is just extra. As for bottle feeding Connor now eats at least 6 ounces a feed with rice added to the bottle and he eats ALOT. The kiddo goes through between 26 and 32 ounces a day, not a 24 hour period a day so from 8am to 8pm type deal. I think this is a growth spurt time because he is also sleeping alot more than he was just a few weeks ago. The goal weight for Christmas is now 14 pounds. That means Connor has to put on a pound and half by the 25th. The goal for 1 year (April 20) is 20 pounds. I was 17 pounds at 1 year so I would love to see Connor beat me on that. The pics on this blog are of Mr. Connor eating applesauce of course!

Love to you all,
A.

Pics of Connor

home 98 days

Connor has officially been home longer than he was in the NICU for. He spent 97 days in the NICU at UW and today he has spent 98 days out of it!! I am so excited. What a great kiddo. He has changed so much, he came hom at 7 pounds 1 ounce andis now 12.8, he was 20 inches and is now 23.5, he was on oxygen 24 hours a day and is now on nothing, we were happy if he took a 2 ounce bottle, now he takes 6 ounces at almost everyfeed plus rice cereal added to most of them. He is just such a miracle. I know some of the NICU nurses keep up on this blog so here is a HUGE thank you to all of you for making this all possible for us. You are truly amazing and wonderful people and I will forever be grateful to each and every one of you for all that you did and still do.

Blessings to everyone,
A.
