Connor loves Christmas....
Hey everyone,
I am SO sorry it has been so long. To say things have been crazy would be putting it mildly. Everything is good though.
Connor went to UW onthe 13th and had his evaluation. He came back with EXCE#LLENT results. He is an average 4 month old in terms of mental skills and at a 3 month level in the motor skills area. This is far better than I expected. The Physical Therapist that did Connor's eval was the same loveley lady from the NICU so she could see a very big change in Connor. Connor weighed in at a wonderful 13 pounds plus. He was in a fabulous mood and very happy to show off all his tricks. The therapist was looking for any signs of cerbral palsy and some other things and she saw nothing right now that would worry her. Praise God! We were told we don't need to come back until Connor is adjusted to one year (August) but I aksed to come back when Connor is actually one (April) just to stay on top of things. Connor will also continue his therapy with Ray once a week as well.
December 20 brought another round of the RSV preventative shot that Connor gets every month. It is also another time for Connor to be weighed. If you recall my goal for Connor was 14 pounds by Christmas. On the 20th Connor weigheed in at a hefty 14 pounds 11 ounces!!! Once again my little man has shattered my goal for him. Yahoo!!!
Connor also rolls over now. He goes from his tummy to his back but that is it. He only does it sometimes and it is still quite an effort. Perhaps in January it will get easier for him. Of course this means for all of us that we cannot leave Connor playing nicley on a blanket. Its just so crazy.
We have added bananna's and carrots to Connor's diet. So now he eats bananna's or applesauce for breakfast followed about 20 minutes later with a bottle. Then he has bottles all day and at about 5ish he has some juice and for dinner he has carrots or peas, or sweet potato with some squash. Dessert is applesause or banana. Then off for a bath and one more bottle. Then off to bed. Its so much fun and Connor is getting much better with the spoon. He opens his mouth now when you bring the soon to it and he doesn't turn his head so much. He is a very dedicated eater. Mind you he was extremly dedicated to eating in the NICU too, breathing who needs that, but don't mess with my food!
January will hold a dermatology appt, a lung doctor appointment, and an appointment with a Liver doctor. It will be yet another busy month. I have pictures to post and I will do that asap.
Love to you all,
Ali
